New Delhi: The central government has officially termed the Delhi blast near Red Fort as a terrorist act. During a special Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ministers condemned the attack and called it an act against the nation. The cabinet observed a two-minute silence for the victims and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly. Officials said the nature of the explosion, target location, and planning clearly indicate a terror link.
Three major resolutions were passed during the CCS meeting. First, the government condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the victims. Second, it directed all investigative agencies to conduct a high-speed, professional probe. Third, the cabinet resolved to identify not only the attackers but also their supporters and sponsors — both within and outside India — and ensure their punishment without delay.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Intelligence and security chiefs presented updates on the blast investigation and the suspected terror network involved. The discussion lasted over an hour, focusing on strengthening border surveillance and tightening city-level intelligence to prevent similar attacks in the future.
After the main meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah held a separate 30-minute discussion with Prime Minister Modi at his residence. Sources say the two leaders reviewed the preliminary reports from investigative agencies and discussed further action to trace the mastermind. Security in Delhi and surrounding regions was intensified, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) taking full charge of the case.
Returning from his Bhutan visit, Prime Minister Modi went straight to LNJP Hospital to meet the injured victims of the blast. He spent about 25 minutes speaking with patients and doctors. In a social media post, he wrote, “Met those injured in the Delhi blast. Praying for their speedy recovery. Those behind this conspiracy will not be spared — they will face justice.” His message reflected the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
The NIA and Delhi Police are jointly investigating possible cross-border involvement and funding routes. Forensic teams have collected vehicle fragments and explosive samples from the Red Fort area. Investigators are also analyzing CCTV footage and suspect movement near the site. Early reports suggest that sophisticated explosives were used, hinting at an organized terror network operating inside India with external support.
Nationwide outrage and grief have followed the blast. Citizens, political leaders, and global allies have condemned the attack and extended support to India’s fight against terrorism. The government’s firm stand, the cabinet’s emergency resolutions, and the unified national response signal a clear message — India will not bow down to fear or violence. The coming days will reveal how quickly justice reaches those behind this heinous act.
